Please Note: Due to staffing arrangements, the local studies unit will be open during the following times: 10.00 am to 12.00 pm These hours are currently under review. The Local Studies Unit is responsible for the care and management of local history resources held by the Lithgow Regional Library relating to the Lithgow local government area. The Local Studies collection comprises and extensive variety of resources including photographs, vertical files, Lithgow City Council archives, community archives, newspapers and maps. There is also a genealogical resource collection that includes local oral history recordings. Each item has been catalogued and is accessible through the OPAC. Search for Local studies information using keywords. Access to the Reference Local Studies Collection is under controlled superivision.This material cannot be borrowed. There is a limited borrowing collection available. Material may be photocopied, subject to the conditions specified under the Copyright Act.
